As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Technician on our First shift at J.A. Reinhardt Company located in Mountainhome, Pennsylvania.

SUMMARY

Under limited supervision, performs chemical processing of parts as required by production demands by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Wear approved PPE for all processes requiring it. Maintain PPE as needed.

  • Process parts through the chemical conversion coating line per prescribed instructions.

  • Process parts through the chemical cleaning line per prescribed instructions.

  • Perform regular, routine maintenance on the chemical line via prescribed maintenance procedures.

  • Perform solution analysis (titrations) regularly per prescribed procedures.

  • Work with the deburring department to ensure cleanliness and consistency of parts going through the chemical conversion line.

  • Accurately and consistently complete all documentation (process parameter logs, maintenance logs, etc.) in accordance with prescribed procedures. Adequately maintain all documentation.

  • Work with procurement to ensure that all required chemicals and materials are always available. E.g. order more chemicals when running low or when nearing expiration dates.

  • Work with maintenance to ensure that all non-routine maintenance issues pertaining to equipment used for chemical processing are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Work in deburring when the WIP for chemical conversion coating and cleaning is low.

  • Be proactive in continuous improvement methodologies and activities.

  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and two years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work and life experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete prescribed forms and documents. Ability to speak effectively to auditors, engineers, and other technical personnel. Ability to communicate effectively to other shop employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using a calculator. Ability to apply concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
