Job Summary

The Senior Nuclear Surety Expert is needed to conduct technical nuclear surety analyses, nuclear certification assessments, and risk & vulnerability analyses required to support ALCS-R development. Development activities include the ALCS-R Technical Maturation/Risk Reduction program execution, supporting of ALCS-R Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development phase Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses. Analysis activities include safety/security evaluations of the design, operation, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, nuclear command & control, software, and communications subsystems. Duties also include presenting technical material to the Nuclear Surety Working Group and other AF review boards. Principal responsibilities include direction on Nuclear Safety Design Certification compliance including weapon system specifications, weapon system architecture, and compliance documents (AFIs and AFMANs) with integration into Model Based System Engineering environment to produce required artifacts for Nuclear Certification in accordance with AFI 63-125.

This position is located in Richardson, Texas.

Job Responsibilities

  • Candidate will conduct technical nuclear surety analyses, nuclear certification assessments, and risk & vulnerability analyses. This includes safety evaluations of the design, operation of electrical, mechanical, nuclear command & control, software, and communications subsystems

  • Support IPTs in the development of their design to ensure compliance with nuclear surety standards. Ensure system architecture meets nuclear surety requirements.

  • Support Nuclear Surety WGs and present technical results of the analysis to internal and external customers.

  • Individual job duties may vary.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates must have the following:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Must have a the ability to obtain a DoD securityclearance (Secret)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, with knowledge of how to apply reliability and maintainability techniques
